Patio Weather

It is seriously boiling today here in Toronto and I'm currently contemplating whether or not I should made the excruciating trip to summer school. It just so happens that my class in smack dab in the middle of two stations so both choices entail me to make at least a 10 minute walk...JOY. Anyways, not to make this weather look like a total downer, yesterday my boyfriend and I headed to Harbour Front to enjoy the sunshine for some dinner on the patio! We ate at this restaurant called Bar Milano and enjoyed the outside weather near the water side. Thoughts: Would I eat there again? Probably not considering the prices were high and the selections for food few, but the experience was quite lovely and a little bit of quality time never hurt anyone! We also made our way around local downtown, Chinatown and Kensington Market. I absolutely love how multicultural this city is! So here's hoping you're all enjoying the summer...hot weather and all! xo

The best I could do for an OOTD. It was seriously boiling so I opted on choosing a baggy Zara leather pocket tee, Zara denim shorts and accessories to match! I have this thing for gold...(if you couldn't tell before)
They were selling these incense sticks at Kensington Market. Most I was familiar with and some not so much...although "lucky Lottery" smelt awfully nice!
Kensington Bread and Dessert Bakery...heaven!
Couldn't leave without taking a pictures of the cookies I grew up with!
Perfect day for boating...except I would probably crash straight into the dock -.-
My veal sandwich...not that great to be honest but worth the experience and time with my boyfriend!
John's spicy ass pizza...seriously I couldn't even take one bite without reaching for the water! I don't know how he finished it!
Goodnight T.O.!

My 21st

Yesterday was my 21st birthday and even writing that number seems incredibly foreign to me. Maybe it's because I still act like a 12 year old and look about minus 3 years from what I really am. Whatever the reason is, I woke up the next morning and prayed that this year would be blessed with happiness and good health. 21 I feel is a big year, one where the smallest of decisions can make a dramatic impact in my life and I can only hope that I make the right choices. Anyways, the day continued on celebrating with my family and friends! At night I finally had the chance to go to Joey Eaton's, a somewhat new restaurant located right at the heart of downtown, Toronto, with my brother and his girlfriend (just arrived that day from their vacation in Cuba), my boyfriend and mom (my dad refused because he said it was too expensive *rolls eyes*). The dinner was lovely, although my mom could not fathom how loud a restaurant could get at night! I would recommend this place for a crowd that does not mind shouting at each other at such a close distance! Other than that, the dinners had its ups and downs but it was nicely topped off with coming home and having the cake that my dad bought me. We finally had our first family photo in ages (our house is soo messy because Jeffrey just came home and we left right away for dinner) and I fell asleep that night exhausted. So here's hoping the rest of my 21st year is somewhat like my day yesterday (despite some arguments) and many more years to come xo,

Waiting patiently for the family to get ready

Reunited

...and it feels so good! (refer to title for what seems to be a random insert) Yesterday a few of my friends and I headed over to Masa, a sushi restaurant found near Bay and Bloor, for some all-you-can-eat dinner. It was great seeing them as many of them go to universities outside the city or far enough that I'd probably get lost trying to find my way there (it might as well be outside the city). We had all-you-can-eat sushi, Japanese dishes and our waitress was even kind enough to give us free ice-cream on the house! (which pretty much resulted in a big tip and more than the cost of our ice cream) I would definitely recommend this place to other people although the lowest priced menu has a lot less options than the step up! After that we all headed downtown to sit and conversed about old high school memories. Time seriously does fly! But I'm still so happy to be friends with such amazing people :) Till next time, xo

The Start of Summer

This weekend was my first few days of summer and I must say they have been amazing! Saturday I slept over at one of my best friend's house alongside with her boyfriend and mine. It was so nice spending the whole night making sushi and watching movies and then waking up to cook breakfast. I'm so blessed to have them in my life! Then today John and I headed over to Castle Loma, a historical attraction in Toronto for the first time ever. It was great to learn new things and see the beautiful castle (and all for free might I add!) It was an extremely windy day but enjoyable nonetheless! It's always fun to try new things! xo

Indulgence

Took a break from studying and went out for a triple date with the gang :) Too bad I couldn't take a group photo (seeing as we went to watch the movie Wrath of the Titans) but it's ok, it's the thought that counts :) Anyways before that, the boyfriend and I headed to Pickle Barrel in which we thought it was a good idea to pretty much order everything on the menu (catch my sarcasm there). We ended up getting nachos, sweet potato fries, a salad, pasta and paella...and we couldn't even finish! Ugh, sooooo much food and so we had to take it to-go. (Plus the service was not too friendly that night, no tip for you glen coco!) Oh well, now we know not to order so much in the future! LOL enjoy your week xo

Weekly Tidbits & The Hunger Games

My week has been pretty hectic (I always say this!) but I've managed to relax through some much needed social time with the boyfriend, friends and old co-workers. I got to see 21 Jump Street (which was pretty effing hilarious), eat a lot of sushi, go to new restaurants and might I add...I got to watch the HUNGER GAMES!!! (forwarding on with this rant from this point on).
Wow, can I just say Josh Hutcherson totally delivered as a blonde! Not to mention Alexander Ludwig has the body of a god! All in all, the movie was pretty good (spoiler alert ahead) but sadly, did not meet my highly anticipated expectations. Why might you ask? Well, although the movie was over 2 hours long, I felt that they missed really important parts. I seriously did not feel that the other characters, beside Katniss, were developed enough to empathize and connect with them. In fact, I felt no emotional attachment watching them in their deaths (wow, cold hearted Michelle). But still, even Rue who has such a great significance in the book and as a reminder in later books, got about a 5 minute screen time with Katniss before she was killed off (I still teared up). And the whole cave scene with Peeta and Katniss was okay, but not great, as the temperature never rose above lukewarm (still, he is hot as a mothereff...yeah). I mean, the whole point of the "star crossed lovers" was to get people to sponsor them but in the book Katniss soon realizes she's fallen in love with the "boy with the bread." However, in this movie, I never really finds she battles with what she knows will keep them alive and what she feels in her heart. Additionally, throughout the other parts of the movie they missed so many puns and funny moments between them that I personally thought would have added to the chemistry between them. Despite that, the ending also didn't do much for me. The dogs are supposed to have the eyes of the dead tributes (I thought this was kind of important seeing as it haunts her dreams in the next books) and Cato is supposed to die a long and grueling death to showcase the Capitol's sense of savage entertainment. Nope, none of that... along with Peeta's blood poisoning and new leg (actually, I'm happy to think he doesn't have one). I get it, they can't include it all, but I can't help but thinking it would have been nice. Anyways, there were some pretty amazing add ons in the movie like Senenca Crane's part as well as behind the scenes of how they made the arena. Also, Cato and Glimmer seemed to have a thing for each other which I thought was kind of cute. So will I see the movie again? Probably not. Will I buy the movie? You betcha! Happy Hunger Games readers, xo

On a date with the boyfriend at Kyoto House near Dundas. By this time, I was so sleepy but craving sushi!

OMG this place is amazing! It's located near Yonge and Dundas and serves soups, salads, bread, sandwiches, desserts and a lot of other healthy options. They're a bit pricey but it's actually sooooo worth it. For a small meal (see below) I was already full halfway through! Plus, they actually serve your food restaurant style, very convenient!
